Puig Corporation is the holding company for a group that includes, among others, PUIG Beauty & Fashion, a multinational fashion, perfumery and cosmetics company, with head offices in Spain, Paris and New York. Included amongst the group’s brands are the world-renowned Puig, Gal, Myrurgia, Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci and Carolina Herrera. Their products are distributed all over the world, and the group employs 6,000 people, with factories in Spain, France, the United States and Mexico.
Mr Puig was a founding member of the Spanish “Instituto de la Empresa Familiar.” He previously served as its president and is now a member of the board. He also founded and is now honorary president of the European Group of Family Enterprises (GEEF). GEEF represents the interests of all European family business associations before the economic authorities from the government of the European Union in Brussels.
Mr Puig also serves on the board of several private companies, and he is a member of the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, the Social Board of the International University of Barcelona, the Fundación Pro Real Academia Española, Madrid and the Patronato de la Fundación Príncipe de Asturias.
Puig Corporation has been the recipient of the IMD Distinguished Family Business Award 1998, ESADE – Premio a la Excelencia Empresarial 2000, and the Kellogg University (Chicago) Award for Special Contribution to Family Business 2003
Born in Barcelona, Mr Puig is married with four sons and one daughter. He is a Dr. of Chemical Engineering, an IESE graduate and a member of its international board. A sportsman in his youth, he was member of the Spanish ski and water ski teams. Twice a Spanish champion in his field, he also participated in the World Cup in Wien, Copenhagen and Cypress Gardens.
