Having served as a manager in two family owned firms, and as member of his own family partnership, Keyt has experienced the challenges of family business firsthand. As a consultant he specializes in dealing with family conflict & communication, working with adult sibling/cousin teams, succession planning, strategic planning, and emergency management transition. A frequent speaker on family business topics, Keyt has spoken for such diverse groups as The Chicago Bar Association, The ABA National Trust School, The Seeley Conference at Cornell University, The Northern Trust Corporation, Harris Bank and The Family Firm Institute. As a leader in the field of family business, Keyt has been published in magazines and journals including Family Business and Family Business Review. Keyt is frequently quoted by news media such as, Chicago Tribune, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, National Public Radio, ABC World News tonight, CNBC.com, Smart Money Magazine, and Business Newsmakers with Jack Taylor.

A cum laude graduate of Kenyon College (B.A.), Keyt completed a Masters in Family Systems Theory from Northwestern University with a concentration on family business. Outside of the family business world, he currently serves on the Alumni Council of Kenyon College. An active volunteer with the Leukemia Society of America, Keyt has completed six marathons while raising money for leukemia research. An avid singer, Mr. Keyt currently performs with the Chicago Choral Ensemble and the Clubhouse Quartet.
